what we have been taught about the speed of sound in different mediums
The speed of sound changes drastically when it travels through a different medium, like from air to water. The speed of sound in air is about 343 m/s. In water the speed of sound travels 4.3 times faster than air, that is 1,484 m/s. That is a lot faster than what it is usually. We also learned that the speed of sound differs, not only from mediums, but also in temperature. Room temperature is what it usually is,(70 degrees)
We are learning how to calculate the speed of sound too. here are some ways to calculate it with equations.
